The Water Project had a strong presence this year at the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Symposium. The Symposium took place from May 1-3, 2014 at Hotel Gander. The Water Project was able to have an interactive booth that displayed preliminary findings from the survey and case studies as well as profile the work our interns are doing. This included interactive maps displaying drinking water data, posters and research from community health concerning human health impacts of contaminated drinking water and our engineering student displaying small scale treatment options for disinfectant-by products. We even had a chance to host a focus group with some keen councilors and mayors on the realities of regional approaches to drinking water management. It was a great success.
